Dave from Whitewater Ski Patrol says that 10cm of snow has fallen in the last three days over isolated wind slabs (10-15cm thick) in lee features in the alpine. There is now a persistent slab problem in isolated features on top of the January 30th surface hoar and potentially down to the January 14th melt-freeze crust. The biggest concern in the days to come is the January 30th layer as we get more of a slab developing, especially below treeline.
