Planning on heading out into the backcountry to take advantage of this high-pressure system currently over the interior of BC? Be sure to read and watch the following Avalanche Conditions Report so you are up to speed on what conditions are like and what to expect.
Last weekend roughly 40cm of snow fell which sat on top of a surface hoar layer from February 13 which created a reactive storm slab that is slowly beginning to settle out.
We are in a period of high pressure with clear sunny skies, but don't be fooled into complacency, be mindful that the sun can have a dramatic effect on the snowpack and can wake up deeper instabilities.
This weekend we are expecting around 10cm of snow which will improve skiing but also potentially impact stability.
