Avalanche Conditions Report: Ski Quality Slowly Improving
This week's Avalanche Conditions Report looks at the current conditions, the coming weather and the Avalanche Canada Rating so watch the following video to learn more:Last week the Kootenay region of BC got hit with a storm from the south that brought warm temps and a lot of precipitation. This caused a 24 hour period of high avalanche hazard as there were natural avalanches occurring almost everywhere. Following the storm, the temps dropped to minus 14 and created a thick crust on all aspects and elevations in the area. This crust has dropped the avalanche hazard to low for the time being but as more snow falls in the next couple days, this crust will act as the perfect bed surface for new avalanches so keep your senses sharp and ski safe out there.
