Avalanche Conditions Report VIDEO
Backcountry Skiing Canada and Whitewater Ski Resort present the latest Avalanche Conditions Report. In this video, Dave will talk about the warmer temperatures on Tuesday that created moist snow up to 2150m on all aspects and elevations and the intermittent rain that fell to the top of Ymir Peak which created a loose wet avalanche problem.
There were also size 2.5 and size 2 avalanches on Evening Ridge, but this new 1cm - 2cm thick crust on top of everything from temperatures dropping in the evening will help to bridge lower instabilities.
Avalanche Canada is calling the hazard moderate in Alpine, Treeline, and Below Treeline but be aware that we are going into a warming trend that will break down crust on solars and potentially elevate the hazard in the alpine.
As always play safe out there!
