The birth of new slide paths -- Pics of Avalanche Damage near Lemon Creek BC
A buddy just sent us some pictures of some avalanche carnage about an hour up the lake from here in Nelson, BC. This is near Lemon Creek in a drainage called Holmstein (sp?), about 2.5km from the end of the road. Until just recently, this was mature forest without a slide path running through it. The track was about 600meters long and over 100meters wide. The start zone above had rocks with cornices, large crown fracture. Probably 3 day prior to when the photos were taken.
This is futher evidence supporting what the CAC's Karl Klassen says over here.
MASSIVE!
