COMP- 4 half days of Whistler slackcountry.
This video was shot on 4 half day tours during the 3rd week of January. Each of the 4 days had it’s own unique flavour and character that stands out in the memory. The exposed entrance and chalky snow of the Chisel Couloir- the sunny skies and bitter cold in the Shooting Gallery- the amazing views on the way to Corona Bowl and of course the blower pow around singing pass. People are often scared away from backcountry skiing by what they perceive as more complicated logistics. How long will it take to get there? Will the snow be worth the effort? Can I be back in time for work? But cast your doubts aside and embrace the wilderness- the reward is always worth the effort.
^Note: The doubts of which I speak refer to doubts about reward to effort ratios. Doubts about snowpack stability and impending bad weather should always be taken seriously!
