COMP-AUSSIE COULOIR, JOFFRE PARK.
On the Coast Range of BC we decided to take advantage another sunny day. There have been lots of sunny days here in this month. Great vis and sun but not so great POW! Hence the nickname Drycember. It seemed that because of the North Easterly winds that had been blowing the snow the West and South aspects held the best chance of Non breakable crust. We decided to spend the day in Joffre provincial park. The target was the “Aussie Couloir” off the peak of Joffre. The sun was on the line for the hike up and it sure didn’t feel like December. Rocks and snow was starting to loosen up by the warm temps and fall down. We topped out and put on our gear and enjoyed some predictable and enjoyable sun lit stryofoam surface smear turns!
YEE HAW. It’s not what you do but who you do it with. Great crew, Great day, and fresh air. Thanks Holly, Stephan, Javier. And the AUSSIE!!!
