        Blackcomb backcountry

        With no new snow in several weeks when we got hit with 7 cm, skiers start to get excited.  How was it? The word ‘good’ has begun to take on new meanings and definitions.  Stoked to enjoy the beautiful sunny weather we set out to play in the backcountry of Blackcomb mountain. Skiing was best on South and west facing slopes.  Dropping south off the back of Spearhead and east col, and then up Decker to the west ridge of Mt. Decker.  Were the conditions epic? NO but the dust on crust was “good” !  Looking at the forecast things are about change for the better.  Just what I wanted for Christmas!!  Weak Troughs have lined themselves up to bring snow for the next 5 days!  Hopefully this will be better than good!
