Skiing the Garibaldi Volcanic Barrier, please help, I'm a backcountry noob
I thought I'd explain my interest in the spot and my ability before I ask questions.
My name's Max Berkowitz, and I am 15 years old. I was hiking up to Garibaldi Lake for a family camping trip last year when I saw the Barrier. This was in mid august, and there were still several portions of snow on the main spine, and I thought that the spine, if skiied in early May/late April, might be a skiiable line with a mandatory air. Anyways, although not out of my skiing abilibility, I really just wanted to film my friends hitting this line from the viewpoint side of the barrier.
Problem is me and my friends are experienced fit skiers, but backcountry noobs. We've never done it. So if I'm to film this line, I need to know the safety of hitting the barrier, the gear needed, and if it is a one day shred (I think it is). Please help me out ifn you know anything.
Thanks in advance!
BTW here's a picture of the barrier I did not take, from summer. The line I am proposing is lookers right.
