There's no better way to stay in shape in the offseason than to get out a hike a mountain (even if you have to hike back down). Most of the hiking gear below does double duty for ski touring in the winter if you are looking to have a cross-over gear closet. We have reviewed backpacks, jackets, sunglasses and hiking boots and shoes from the likes of Rab, Exped, Westcomb, Native, Salewa, The North Face, First Ascent, Smartwool, Sherpa Adventure Gear, Outdoor Research, Salomon, Kuhl, Ahnu and Oboz Footwear. Did we miss anything? if so let us hear about it in the forums.
