A good pair of ski poles is essential to a successful ski tour just as solid pair of alpine touring skis, bindings and climbing skins are. We have reviewed a handful of ski touring poles from Black Diamond (with more on the way) including the Black Diamond Pure Carbon Poles, Black Diamond Fixed Length Carbon Poles and the Black Diamond Compactor Poles. Some of these are made of carbon and some are metal just as some are fixed and some are adjustable. Have a read and decide which is right for you, then let us know your thoughts over in our gear review forums.
