Salewa Puez Knit Powertex Hiking Shoe

While you may not know of Salewa, the brand has been around since 1935 when it was founded by Josef Liebhart in Munich Germany. Salewa is known for its technical mountain gear and especially its mountaineering, trekking, and speed hiking footwear which has proven to be reliable, strong and comfortable with durability and stability.



The latest footwear from Salewa is their Progressive Trekking Collection which includes the Puez Knit PTX Hiking Shoe. This shoe uses a unique mix of natural, synthetic, and recycled materials wrapped in a lightweight progressive design. It comes in a low-cut hiking shoe and a mid-cut boot ideal for mixed mountain terrain. Built on a trekking last, the Puez Knit PTX has a long list of innovative features that include the 3F system for a secure fit, Pomoca outsole to ensure stability/grip and an eco-efficient alpine hemp midsole. These midsoles combine hemp with recycled Salewa apparel to create a comfortable cushioning that's more eco-friendly than traditional EVA foam. They also use hemp laces and you get a second pair of spare laces with each show in a different colour so you can personalize your Puez Knit shoes how you like.



They have an abrasion-resistant knitted nylon upper that forms around your ankle to provide added protection and helps to keep dirt and debris out so you can hike on any terrain without stones getting in your shoes. In addition to this, the upper is waterproof and breathable thanks to the proprietary PFC-free Powertex membrane. To ensure durability Salewa has added generous rubber reinforcements around the shoes which also provide more support and a progressive look.

I’ve been wearing the Puez Knit Powertex Hiking Shoes for over a month now and have found that they are super versatile, able to go from a mountain hike in fairly rough terrain to a stroll through town. They are super comfortable and breath well on warmer days so I have been able to wear them all day long without any issue. I especially like the kitten upper that keeps any debris out of the shoes while hiking and of course their good looks.
