Smith Optics Lowdown Focus & Attack Sunglasses
While at Outdoor PressCamp last month in Deer Valley Smith Optics showed me their new Lowdown Focus and Optics Attack sunglasses. These glasses could not be more different from each other so let's look at each one individually.
Smith Optics Lowdown Focus
Smith aims to make mental training easier with their new Lowdown Focus sunglasses. These are the first brain sensing eyewear that gives you instant feedback on your mental activity. Smith worked in collaboration with InteraXon to incorporate their technology into the Lowdown Focus which is embedded in the frames. A tiny EEG sensor picks up brain activity and transmits it to your iPhone via bluetooth to then help train you to calm your mind and make it more focused and relaxed. Smith claims that the benefits of this mental training include stress reduction, increased concentration, greater cardiovascular and immune health.

I only tried the Lowdown Focus for one session so I can’t say if the technology really works since it’s part of a longer term training regiment. The Lowdown Focus glasses do however have Smith's famous ChromaPop lenses and modern styling so even when you are not training your brain you’ll still look good and have natural visual clarity.

Smith Optics Attack
Smith’s new Attack and Attack MAX Interchangeable Series Sunglasses use an intuitive MAG Technology to make lens change easy and fast. Magnets built into the frame arms of the glasses at the temple location keep the lenses secure until you want to swap them out. A simple pinch of the frame arms allows you to switch from one of the included ChromaPop lenses to the other. There are two sizes to choose from, the Attack and Attack MAX, both providing a full range of vision and the ChromaPop lenses show natural colour with enhanced visual clarity and greater definition of objects. Each pair of Attack and Attack MAX glasses comes with a second Rose coloured ChromaPop lens for low light conditions.

While I didn’t get to test the Attack Sunglasses at Press Camp in Deer Valley, I do plan on trying the ChromaPop lenses long term in a full review, so stay tuned for that.
