Bob Smith, founder of Smith Optics passes away

Bob was 78 years old and died of complications stemming from heart surgery on April 18, 2012. Mr. Smith led quite the life, he originally started out as a dentist and then he used these skills and tools to develop a solution for fogged goggles. Smith Optics was then founded in 1965, he eventually sold the company in 1991.

We dug up this vid of Bob in all his glory at Jackson Hole in 1967 while fillming “The Last of the Ski Bums.” Enjoy the flick and think of Bob the next time your goggles don't fog up.
