Next Seasons gear sneak peek: Voormi
While there are plenty of manufacturers of wool apparel out there, Voormi was one that stood out at this winter’s SIA show in Denver. It wasn’t just because of there innovative wool blended fabrics, their clean aesthetics, simplified designs or how good the products look and feel. It was because of Voormi’s commitment to making quality products in the USA and not is some far away land. Their use of locally sourced Merino Wool and the idea that status quo is not good enough.
Voormi is a relatively new company with a limited product range but we’re expecting big things from them. Take for example their “Core Construction Technology”, which is not your typical three layer laminated waterproof/breathable membrane construction. Instead, Voormi uses a single-layer construction building the permeability and protection of the membrane right into the weave of the wool. Their new Access Hydro Shell uses this new fabric as does the soon to be released Drift Hydro Jacket which uses wool insulation to give a soft shell feel and hard shell protection.
A close up look at that innovative Core Construction Technology.
We’re hoping to get out hands on some of these Voormi products to test for you so stay tuned.
