VANCOUVER INTERNATIONAL MOUNTAIN FILM FESTIVAL, RETURNS FEB 2022
The Vancouver International Mountain Film Festival is back again February 25 - March 6 for its 25th year, and it is sure to have something to fill a corner of every mountain lover’s soul!
Presented by Arcteryx and with over 50 films being screened in total, The VIMFF 2022 has two themed evenings in store alongside several feature films. The ‘Snowsports Show’ is an offering of the best snow sport films of the year, for those interested in watching deep pow turns, cliff drops, type-2-fun suffer ski traverses, inbound resort riding, and everything in between. The ‘Colour the Trails Show’ has five films featuring BIPOC adventurers and filmmakers, celebrating the diversity of mountain culture and elevating the achievements of people of colour, women, and adaptive athletes.
‘Buried’ — a feature film — is a personal recounting of a deadly avalanche in Tahoe City in the 80’s. Another of the films is ‘The Traverse’, which follows two athletes as they attempt the first non-stop, female-only ski traverse of the Haute Route, from Chamonix to Zermatt.
And that’s just the hasty summary! There’s more. For more info on the Film Festival, check out the event website and get your early bird tickets here — before January 31st!
