Sneak Peek: New BCA Tracker S Transceiver and BC Links 2.0 Radio - VIDEO
For the 2018/19 ski season Backcountry Access (BCA) will be releasing a simplified Tracker 3 Transceiver called the Tracker S and an upgraded BC Link Radio called the 2.0.
The Tracker S Transceiver will have a lower pice point of $299US versus $335US for the Tracker 3. BCA is able to do this by removing the micro USB port used for upgrades and the motion sensor. This makes the Tracker S not only easier to use but also cheaper to buy. Read our review of the Tracker 3 Transceiver here.
The Backcountry Access BC Links Radio also gets an overhaul and will now be called the Backcountry Access BC Links 2.0 Radio. It will be a 2 watt radio and thus provide clearer communications. It also has a newly designed mic with an inset dial that will not collect snow as easily. The base unit will use a refined attachment cord and be lighter and smaller in size than the current version.
