Sneak Peek: Jones Mind Expander Splitboard - VIDEO
Jeremy Jones has been making some of the best snowboards on the market for a while now and the Jones Mind Expander Snowboard has proven to be a hit in its first year. For next season there will be a new split version for those looking to explore the backcountry.
The Jones Mind Expander Snowboard uses a surf-rocker profile with a alternative freeride/freestyle shape. This means that there is limited flat under foot and a progressive rocker in the tip and less in the tail. It has a tight radius sidecut to make it nimble and versatile. The shape and stiff web-fused carbon in the nose makes it floaty while the bi-axe fibreglass and paulownia wood keep it light and forgiving.
The new split version of the Jones Mind Expander board has a unique 3D spoon shaped bevel in the nose but the rocker profile remains the same. It uses Karakorum Ultra Clips to keep the two halves tight and secure and their rivets are embedded in the core so nothing passes through to the base.
Stay tuned for a full review of this new board, coming next season.
