Next Seasons gear Sneak Peek: La Sportiva Vapur Svelte
At the recent SIA Show in Denver I spoke with Cory Lowe about the La Sportiva Spectre AT boots, Vapur Nano Skis and the new Vapur Svelte Skis. I reviewed the Spectre Boots last year and continue to use them at the resort and for all my ski touring days big and small. They’re a super light weight yet stiff AT Boot ideal for all conditions which is why they’ve also won our prestigious Gear Of The Year Award.
The Spectre AT Boots are the lightest 4 buckle boot on the market and in walk mode they have an incredible 60 degrees range of motion making them a natural chose for ski touring. Retailing at $649US hey offer up great value for this kind of quality and performance.
Watch our video review of the La Sportiva Spectre AT Boots below:
In La Sportiva Ski line the Vapur Nano Skis have ruled the light weight category coming in at just 1200 grams. This is due to their Carbon Nano Tubes construction which is a technology used in the aerospace industry. With a rocker profile the Vapur Nano Skis float in the pow but are still super stiff and torsionally rigid in order to hold an edge in any snow conditions. Having skied the Vapur Nano at the SIA Show I can attest to just how versatile and fun this ski truly is.
New for this year is the La Sportiva Vapur Svelte ski which has slightly narrower dimensions at 95mm under foot. With this naturally comes a lighter weight, at just 1000 grams this ski is seriously light. The Vapur Svelte however still maintaining the legendary Vapur skiability thanks to that carbon nano tube construction.
La Sportiva also has an extensive line of ski apparel designed for ski touring, climbing and other adventure activities. We previously reviewed the Adjuster Jacker and the Protector Pants which are both soft shell pieces designed for ski touring.
