Sneak peek at next years gear: 2016/2017 Tecnica Zero G Ski Boots
For the 2016/17 season Tecnica will introduce the Zero G Collection of boots specifically designed for the backcountry skier who’s looking for touring, technology, and performance. The boot has a traditional four-buckle overlap design that is light in weight with confident downhill performance. Tecnica’s goal was to build a boot that offered a competitive weight and range of motion without sacrificing downhill performance.
Check out all the features of the Zero G Boots in this video overview from the Winter Outdoor Retailer Show:
Zero G Features:
Tecnica’s Power Light Design is a boot frame made of lightweight Triax 3.0 plastic that is 2.5 times stiffer and 30% thinner then conventional boot material. The result is a boot that is 20% lighter than previous models. The frame is ‘L’ in shape, outlining the rear and sole of the boot. The sole of the boot, where the majority of the weight is, is 30% thinner by using this lightweight Triax 3.0 plastic.
Another feature of the Zero G collection is the Rockered Sole with Dynafit certified inserts. The boot is built with a rockered rubber sole that is ISO compatible and can easily be replaced without glue or sacrificing the boot.
Unique to these types of boots are the four-buckles that adds support in downhill performance. Tecnica shaved off weight by using extra light, 100% Alu buckles with an innovative lift lock mechanism and extended cuff hook for easy entry/exit and a custom fit. The boot is designed with four Zero G Buckles to allow ample support in downhill performance.
The Mobility Cuff features a new Self Adjusting System (S.A.S.) allowing for 44 degrees range of motion. Unique to Tecnica, is a metal to metal conical shape connection at the cuff release system with a NEW spring mechanism that prohibits ‘play’ resulting in better performance and durability.
Zero G boots are designed with Tecnica’s C.A.S. Shell or Custom Adaptive Shape. The C.A.S. shell is designed from the inside out, focusing on the critical fit areas of the foot to achieve an accurate anatomical shape. The shell is designed so that it is easy to customize if necessary.
The Zero G Guide Pro comes with a Palau Liner that is fully thermoformable. The liner offers shin support and protection and laces for added custom fit. The UltraFit Pro liner is found in the Zero G Guide and Zero G W.
The Tecnica Zero collection is designed for the backcountry skier who wants downhill performance in a light-weight boot that offers superior out of the box fit with a high level of customization options.
