Sneak peek at next years gear: Blizzard Flipcore Carbon Skis
Blizzard’s line up of skis has grown each year and this year at the Winter Outdoor Retailer Show we learned more about their Flipcore technology which is an award winning rocker technology that results in a ski that’s easy to handle, provides better natural flex and increased stability and floatation. Blizzard offers their Flipcore ski technology in both their freeride and Zero G Collection, lets have a look at each of those below—and be sure to watch the video overview as well.
Freeride Collection:
Blizzard Freeride collection returns unchanged (graphic updates only) with the exception of the Brahma which receives the Carbon Flipcore Construction. Highlight technology is Carbon Flipcore, a ninety-degree directional carbon fibre that is integrated into the rockered areas of the tip and tail of the ski. The result: reduced vibration, swing weight, and added stability for improved floatation, easier control, and smoother ride.

Zero G Collection with Carbon Drive
Blizzard introduced the Zero G Collection for the 2015/2016 season. Zero G is a light-weight touring ski with downhill performance and features Carbon Drive and Flipcore technology.
New for 2016/17 is the Blizzard Zero G Race for ski mountaineering and racing. This ski features Carbon Drive Technology from edge to edge and a full woodcore (Paulownia Ultralight+Isocore). The Zero G Race is a super light-weight ski that doesn’t sacrifice stability or durability. This ski weighs in at 675g-685g and has a retail price of $960.
Carbon Drive is the market’s first 3D uni-directional carbon frame construction that is built on-top of the ski with a 3D design in the tip and tail. The Carbon Frame, combined with full sidewalls and a full wood core, increases the torsional rigidity of the ski that results in increased stability and power transmission. The top sheet of the ski is constructed with Carbon Drive, followed by light direction fibreglass, a full paulownia wood core, light direction fibreglass and super light fibreglass. Carbon Drive is one of the lightest weight alpine ski construction on the market that also delivers a high level of downhill performance in a touring ski.
