"Into the Wild" bus airlifted from Alaskan wilderness
The famous bus in which Christopher McCandless lived his final days has been removed from the Alaskan wilderness. Popularised by the book "Into the Wild" by Jon Krakauer and the movie that followed, the bus drew in many individuals who were inspired by the story. People from around the world would come to make their journey into the Alaskan backcountry to visit the bus.After a number of these adventures turned to misadventures, local authorities made the decision to have the bus removed. While the final resting place of the hallowed bus is yet to be decided, its removal has sparked emotions on both sides; those who wish the bus had been left, and those who believe it was too dangerous an attraction.
