The 12 Month Challenge from POW
"Take action, educate yourself, change your habits, reduce your carbon footprint".These are the opening statements on the POW 12 Month Challenge homepage. Everyone alive on the planet today has a vested interest in mitigating the effects of climate change but it doesn't take much imagination for winter recreationists to have that much more to lose. This is why the folks at Protect Our Winters are rallying the outdoors community to come together and take action.

Each month the challenge provides a goal and the tools to accomplish it. We are now in the second month, the theme being Spend and Save Sustainably, and last night POW hosted a webinar with Patrick DeRochie from Shift: Action for Pension Wealth and Planet Health. During the call, Patrick explains not only the financial cost of not taking climate action but the financial gains that are available to those who wish to pursue a more sustainable future.
We may be in the second month of the challenge, but it's not too late to join! You can join the challenge on the POW website and recordings of the web sessions from January and February are available on the Facebook page.
