Photo Comp - Summiting Becher

Vancouver Island gets overlooked as a place to tour, but the island has some pretty substantial mountains and we get a LOT of snow… This was back in december, and while it doesn't show much of the terrain, I liked the silhouette of part of the group nearing the summit of Mt. Becher. This was a pretty mellow day with a large group, 4 skiiers, 2 splitboarders, and a snowboarder on slowshoes.

I will do my best to get out and get some better pictures of the island to showcase some of the really cool terrain we do have

Please do (get out and get more pictures), we had no idea there was such a thing as ski touring on the island - thought you just skied the 505cm base at Washington all year.

Send us some details on where you guys are touring as well, we have zero content for the island and would like to get some on the site since there is apparently some good backcountry skiing over there.

"Slowshoes" - love it.
