Soap Box Comp: We Love Clear Cuts
This was our family’s second great Christmas Eve’s ski day. We didn’t work too hard on the way up for these turns, but I know there was another sled assisted post, so I’m adding this one too. We also went out a week later with the skins and worked hard for one short run, so that might turn into a post as well.
We drove for about 45 minutes up a logging road from the Needles Ferry by Fauquier, BC and then yo-yo’d with a truck and sled to make seven runs on this cut block. There was a great base with a good couple feet of soft stuff – not champagne, but pretty good. It was my first day of the season and we came back a few days later after another foot fell and my legs were working much better, but I forgot the camera.
It was a great day with family members right before celebrating Jesus’ birth.
