Vancouver Island Fresh Tracks

This was last spring so it may not qualify, but I figured It'd be fun to post since people likely rarely see what we have on the island. This was our first stop down the Rosseau bowl in between Mt. Cokely and Mt. Arrowsmith.

There is a bit of a cautionary tale that goes with this picture. This was early April (10th) and we were out too late in the day for spring conditions. Shortly after this picture was taken we continued down and after my friend got to a safe zone to spot my line. I dropped in and on my first turn the whole mountain shattered and then turned to liquid. I was swept a couple hundred meters down the mountain but lucky enough to stay on top and somehow avoid being dragged through any trees, miraculaously we were both unharmed. A mixed day starting with some excellent turns, and ending in some important lessons.
