MSR Explore Revo Snowshoes
Just released in time for this winter season are the new Explore Snowshoes from MSR which come in Lightning, Eco and Revo versions. All three versions feature MSR’s new Paradigm Bindings which use a stretch mesh that cradles your feet for a pressure-point-free hold. These new and improved bindings provide a secure and comfortable fit with the built-in ease of repair. They minimize heel drift for confidence on the snow thanks to their three adjustment points and toe stops which allow for a custom fit. The stretch mesh is similar to that found on MSR’s Ascent Series of snowshoes and along with the two front buckles provide a secure grip on steeper slopes and while side-hilling.
We received a pair of the Revo 25 Snowshoes from MSR and were impressed with their strong and lightweight design. They are designed for intermediate to advanced-level snowshoers or even beginners who want a snowshoe that they can grow into as their skills advance. The Explore Revo Snowshoes are ideal for taking on technical and variable terrain in all sorts of snow conditions. The injection-moulded plastic deck and steel traction frames provide excellent grip in all sorts of terrain and conditions but still provide some needed flex for better contact with uneven surfaces. The secure and comfortable Paradigm Bindings are easy to use with gloves on and make the new Revo’s quick and easy to slip on without too much fuss.
If you have an older version of the MSR Snowshoes the Paradigm Bindings is well worth the upgrade.
