The dos and don'ts of quick pits

 With more and more snow stacking up, more and more people are starting to poke their heads up into the hills. As we venture into our favourite playgrounds, it's important to start building our awareness of the seasons snowpack and one tool for this is quick pits or test pits.

 A big takeaway is that quick pits are just ONE tool and not the be all end all of data gathering and decision making. The information can be valuable but is just a small piece of the puzzle and is limited largely due to spatial variability (variances, or differences, in the snowpack due to specific location).
