Arc’teryx Procline Jacket
The quintessential backcountry skiing jacket is one that not only protects you from the elements but also breathes exceptionally well and this is exactly what the new Arc’teryx Procline Jacket is all about. Made from GORE-TEX INFINIUM fabric, the Procline Jacket has built-in 4-way stretch so your movement is never impeded on the skin track up or the ski down. The built-in breathability means that you won’t overheat like in traditional hardshell jackets and the Procline also keeps the elements at bay thanks to the fabric's water resistance, windproof properties.
With a built-in helmet-compatible Stormhood that doesn’t hinder your vision, you can further batten down the hatches if things truly get ugly. To dump excessive heat the incorporated pit zips can be opened wide to exchange air to keep you cool while you grind out that last 1,000 feet of vertical. There is also an integrated RECCO for added safety, internal stuff pockets for gloves or skins and a powder skirt to keep the snow from going where it shouldn’t. The female version of the Procline is Arc’teryx’s new Shashka Stretch Women’s Jacket.

The built-in four-way stretch doesn’t hinder your movement while crushing out vertical on the skin track or slaying pow turns on the way down. Side zips on each thigh allow you to dump heat should things warm up and when the weather turns nasty and you have to zip up you can rest assured that the water-resistant fabric is still breathable. Lot’s of pockets including one for your transceiver along with Arc’teryx’s unique TouringCuff that makes buckle management easy, make these touring specific pants feature-rich while maintaining their sleek minimalist aesthetic.

Arc’teryx Agrium Hoody
The new Agrium Hoody from Arc'teryx provides a high level of warmth and performance while having a minimal impact on the planet. It uses sustainable materials such as RDS-certified 850 fill European white goose down with Bluesign approved synthetic insulation in areas prone to moisture. The Arato shell fabric is dope-dyed which means they add the colour pigment at the polymer level saving on water, reducing C02 emissions and also increasing fabric colourfastness. Arc’teryx also uses a Fair Trade Certified facility as part of their commitment to transition 80% of their products to fair trade certification by 2025.
The Agrium Hoody is light and packable and delivers exceptional warmth for its weight so you can wear it as a mid-layer or as a standalone jacket if the weather is not as unsettled. It’s also available without a hood ($450CAN / $375US) so you can layer it more effectively with your ski touring shell. Both the hooded and hoodless versions pack down to a minimal size especially given the warmth factor they provide. If you are interested in a women’s version Arc’teryx offers that as well.
