TECNICA UNVEILS NEW SUB-1000-GRAM ZERO G PEAK BOOT LINE
In a recent announcement, Tecnica has unveiled the Zero G Peak — a new, ultralight touring boot line that doesn’t sacrifice downhill performance for weight savings. Although I’m sure that more information on the company’s new products are still on the way, here are some quick facts to get you stoked in the meantime:
Weighing in at about 1000 gams per boot, the Zero G Peak is not only incredibly light (putting it in a similar class alongside only a few other boots on the market), but was also almost five years in the making as Tecnica was determined to match the downhill performance to its climbing abilities.
There are three boots in the line, all featuring a carbon-grilamid outer shell, carbon cuff for added stiffness, and a carbon-reinforced Vibram sole. It’s a pretty hefty package. The biggest differentiation between the Zero G Peak collection to the rest of the sub-1000-gram boot market, is Tecnica's overlap design, much like a traditional alpine boot. It provides stability, and drives powerful confident turns, plus offers a customizable CAS liner-shell system.
