Glueless skins: Interview with the inventor
Local homeboy Kaj Gyr has been busy in his workshop for the last several months and the masses are finally getting to sample his new glueless clipskins. We had a chance to catch up with Kaj recently through email and fired a couple questions his way. View the transcript of our exchange here.
An interesting concept and I'm in the market for a new set of skins for the Gotamas!! Will give them a ring when I get into Red in Dec.
What I would like to know is how do the skins perform climbing etc?? I currently use the BD ascension skins which climb and glide well. Not a big fan of slipping back!! So would be interested to see how they perform in this regard.
Also will be interested to see how robust the glue is that holds the clips to the skin.
Finally the skin preparation video I think needs more close up shots when marking and cutting. I will email them with this thought.
May give them a crack, am always in the market for new!!
