Houdini Power Houdi (made with Polartec Power Stretch Pro) -- Mini review
Houdini is relatively new Swedish company which has teamed up with some North American fabric manufacturers in creating a piece called the Power Houdi. Houdini makes a whack of other apparel as well–and we might provide full reviews of other items in the future. This time around the Power Houdi is our amuse bouche for you.
A major attribute of the Houdi is what its made of: Polartec Power Stretch Pro. I've had a Cloudveil piece made of the same material for about 10 years, literally, and I love it. The fabric is stretchy, semi windproof and super cozy on the inside. The Houdi is cut close so it's easy to layer over, it has two zip pockets to ensure the security of your bits, it has a form-fitting hood and thumb holes on the sleeves. I am not a big fan of "thumbies" but you can just pull up the sleeves to keep them out of the way. It's not possible to have the thumbies engaged under a pair of gloves. Just so you know.
I've worn the hoody almost every day on a hut trip and continue to wear it as an around-town jacket while the temps are still a little low. If you see one of these in your local gear shop, try it on–you may never want to take it off. The cut is slightly funky and distinctive compared with most North American designed pieces. It's also available in 10 colours. Literally.
Here are a couple pics to give you an idea of what it looks like. It's a size large. I am 175lbs, 6'2''.
