Innovative new Kastle skins, skis and poles at SIA show - VIDEO
We spoke with Kastle at the 2013 SIA show a few weeks back and were expecting to focus on their new ski line up but we were quite impressed with their new Kastle Vari Pole Ti Carbon and Kastle Attack Skins.
First in the ski line up Kastle has a new TX touring ski line which includes the Kastle TX 97 and Kastle TX 107. The waist width is in the name for each ski so it is easy to tell which ski is best for your individual needs.
KastleTX 97
The KastleTX 97 is called the Tour Montane and is a sandwich construction capped torsion box design that is light weight for ski touring but does not sacrifice skiing performance. At 1600g this is ideal for backcountry skiers, it is available in lengths of 167,177,187. The TX 97 has a standard camber with tip rocker and a flat tail for ski mountaineering.
KastleTX 107
The KastleTX 107 is called the Tour Poudreuse it has identical construction to the TX 97 other than the width and is available in lengths of 167, 177, 187. The additional width adds 90 grams over the Kastle TX 97 for a toal weight of 1690 grams per ski.
Kastle Attack Skins
For each of the TX skis a custom fit pre-cut skin is available for each ski. These skins are called the Kastle Attack Skins and are a true glue-less skin. The technology uses a 65/35 Mohair mix and microscopic suction cups to adhere to the skis.
Kastle Vari Pole
Kastle has three new ski touring poles as well, the Kastle Vari Pole Ti/Ti, the Kastle Vari Pole Ti Carbon and the Kaslte Vari Pole Carbon/Carbon. These poles are all adjustable and the basket has a rotating ball joint so the dreaded pole fail on the up track is eliminated.
