New Black Diamond Skis at the 2013 SIA Show - VIDEO
The big news coming out of the SIA Show for Black Diamond is the fact that they have 11 new skis in the line up for 2013/2014 season. They have lightened several skis in their line as well as integrated ABS sidewalls in all of the skis. The line-up includes the Black Diamond Megawatt, the AMPerage (now has a stiffer tail) and the women's version of this ski is of course the Element. Two Black Diamond skis contain Titinal metal, those being the Zealot and Verdict.
For touring skis Black Diamond has the Carbon Megawatt which are lighter for next season shaving 500 grams off the skis. The convert is a new touring ski and at 105 underfoot and could be the ski for those looking the one ski that can ski it all. We are hoping to get a set of these new skis to review here at BackcountrySkiingCanada.com, so stay tuned for that.
One final note worth mentioning is that all of Black Diamond's skis are now made in their very own factory and this enables them to monitor quality control much tighter and have more overall control of their products.
Great news all around, check back for an update on Black Diamonds new AT boots for 2013/2014.
