New NORVAN VT kicks from Arc'teryx--more to covet
Arc'teryx has been pushing into the world of footwear over the last couple of years, first with a range of hiking shoes and boots, and most recently with the ACRUX AR mountaineering boot. Up next? It looks like trail runners, called the Norvan VT, for Spring 2017.
As with the hiking/trekking program from Arc'teryx, the Norvan will come in a regular and goretex-bootied version, the Novan VT GTX. The press release tells us, the shoe "is built for alpinists and climbers who use trail running to increase their primary sport performance and dedicated trail runners looking for new territory to explore." Something tells me the company would be OK selling the shoe to just about anybody--I'm not a big alpinist guy, and these shoes would look great on my feet.
As with other Arc' footwear, the Norvan VT features an inner "sock" for support. Vibram outsoles on both (Ya!) and a lacing system that'll accommodate different foot widths-- it works a little like a rock climbing shoe. It'll be available for men and women. The Norvan VT GTX version will retail at $200, the Norvan VT at $170. Weight will be 11.3 oz and 10.6 oz respectively. Look for them on a trail near you.
