        Rapace Redux/before and after

        Most of our reviews on the site feature new products. Sure we've had a chance to test them out and share our impressions, but it's not often that we come back to you with the kind of before and after views we have today. The Salewa Rapace GTX won our gear of the year prize a couple years back. They had been used a few times a season until this past spring/summer when they were put through hell tree planting in the BC interior and up on the Alaskan border.  Wet, cold, rainy, hot, steep slopes, loose rock, mud--all in a never-ending gyre for 60 days. They were some of the only boots in camp that didn't experience a catastrophic failure or produce blisters. And, after a break, they'll be back at it for another season come May.
