Scarpa Maestrale Alpine Touring ski Boots - REVIEW
Scarpa has teamed up with Dynafit and includes the “quick-step-in” inserts for the toe-hole engagement on tech bindings. The literature claims a 70% easier entry (puh-lease). Whatever the number, with these little doohickies, it is easier to get in and out, for sure.
Thumbs up also to Scarpa for their Pebax Renew shell material. I poked around the web a bit to look into this material and didn’t learn much about it other than it’s “bio-based.” I’m not convinced it’s actually planet-friendly but at least they are moving in that direction.
They give these boots a flex rating of 100. Flex ratings are somewhat arbitrary but they are helpful when assessing a manufacturers’ different boots (for perspective, the Mobe has a rating of 125).
