Scoop on Scarpa F1 Evo and more-- OR Video
As promised, some more goodies from our recent trip to Outdoor Retailer in Salt Lake City. Here, Kim Miller, CEO of Scarpa NA, introduces the Scarpa F1 Evo alpine touring boot. (Apologies to Kim for our cutting his name off at the vid's beginning..)
This is one cool boot. Kim goes into the details but, for us, the two niftiest features are the Boa closure and the boots' ability to automatically go into downhill mode when clicked into a tech heel piece. Take it away Kim:
Hell of a nice looking boot. The power strap is a little misaligned in this image, FYI.
Insane range of motion. Looks almost balletic.
And….carrying on the Maestrale story.
For 2014/15, the Maestrale alpine touring boot. The only difference we saw from last year's is a different colour or two, a beefed up power strap and a new, super simple, external tour mode lever (which we are happy to see)
Here is the Maestrale RS. Same upgrades as noted above– just a little lighter and stiffer than the regular Maestrale.
Here is the sub-$500 Maestrale GT alpine touring boot. We recommend dropping the extra coin and going for the RS, but these look to be a great option for the budget conscious. And yes! they have the dynafit OK'ed tech inserts.
