Arcteryx presents " The Hagens", a family ski movie

Last week, over a poutine at Whitewater, my 13 year old asked when he could come ski touring with the crew on a Sunday. As a former ski patroller, and a pretty conservative back country traveller, I was initially on the back foot thinking about all the reasons it wouldn't be a good idea yet. Then I remembered the short film I'd seen. Arcteryx has put out a short film about the Hagen family. Stian Hagen is an accomplished Mountain guide and freeskier, and his wife Andrea is an ex professional freeskier. The film reminded me that taking a young person out into the backcountry is the same as any other choice we make out there, in that the answer is always terrain. So thank you the the Hagen's for inspiring me to take him out next year.
