BLUEBIRD BACKCOUNTRY IS BACK, WITH 12 NEW SKI RUNS
Since its opening in 2019/20 — although Covid-19 derailed the end of their first season — Bluebird Backcountry has already built a solid community of supporters that have flocked to Kremmling, Colorado in search of the powder adventure that Bear Mountain offers. Amongst the parking lot barbecues, fresh tracks and no lift lines, Bluebird Backcountry serves up a grassroots yet avalanche-managed touring experience, and so far it’s been a huge hit.
So the company has hit the ground running. With the intention of maximizing the 4000+ acres of skiable terrain that it boasts, the mountain hosted a “Glade Fest” camp out earlier this summer, in which staff and volunteers worked to thin out a great deal of the forest. This summer trail work has created 4 new uptracks and 12 new ski runs that are ready to go for the 21/22 season! Worth taking a trip out to Colorado to check this place out? I'd say, definitely.
