Denali Soloed in 14-Hours
On June 14th, Chantel Astorga completed her lifelong dream of soloing the ultra-classic Cassin Ridge in a blistering time of 14-hours. This ascent marks the first female solo of Denali recorded.Astorga has a few first ascents to her name spread throughout the Himalaya, as well as many climbing ascents in Yosemite Valley such as rope-soling the Nose in 24-hours.
In a style of true fast & light alpinism. Astorga brought with her 2 ice screws, and a 35m line in case of retreat. With good weather and a solid background of acclimatization and fitness her technical expertise and endurance were the tools she definitely packed along with her.
