Drew Petersen’s new film “Feel It All” - Video
A skiing and running film with the mission of shredding the stigma of mental health and suicideFeel It All chronicles professional skier Drew Petersen’s journey from the depths of suicidal depression to finding purpose, strength, and resilience by setting a goal to run the Leadville Trail 100 ultramarathon. By blending the experience of skiing the highest 14,000-foot peaks in Colorado that surround the Leadville 100 course with the emotional, immersive story arc of running one of the most iconic 100-mile ultramarathons on the planet, the film shows how within the struggle of living with mental illness lies an opportunity to access an infinite, inexhaustible well of strength to achieve our limitless potential. The film aims to ultimately create powerful cultural change around mental health awareness and suicide prevention.
The mission of Feel It All is nothing short of powerful, lasting cultural change of breaking down the stigma around mental health and suicide in order to create a culture that honours and prioritizes mental health in order to save lives and help us thrive as individuals, communities, and as a society.
The Feel It All trailer is available to view on their Kickstarter page free of charge and if you share Drew’s passion you can support this project and provide cultural impact and help other people.
Naturally, Feel It All will reach and impact the skiing and running audiences, but this story will resonate much wider. The outdoor community as a whole, including and beyond just skiing and running, has shown that not only does it need these conversations around mental health, but that the people in this community want the conversation of mental health and suicide prevention elevated.
Using a passion for the outdoors and recreation as common ground, along with the tangible, powerful storyline of running 100 miles, Feel It All creates a platform for mental health that is eye-catching, captivating, relatable, and inspiring.
On an individual level, the goal is for people to feel hopeful, inspired, and empowered to honour their own mental health and support others after watching. On a community level, the outdoor community, particularly mountain communities of the Mountain West is the primary target market. On a societal level, the hope is that this film and its impact can break into the mainstream.
