Are you sick of the high cost of lift tickets but backcountry skiing just isn’t your thing and yet you still want to ski lots of vertical? Then consider a homemade rope tow like the one that Rosas Leon built from an old tractor he bought off Facebook Marketplace. This handy Canadian from Winnipeg watched a YouTube video about DIY rope tows and got to work. He converted a old 10hp lawnmower into a rope town. It has jsut enough power to pull three people at a time up the hill at his local park. The best thing is that come spring he can still use this same lawn mower to cut his grass as he didn’t irreparable modify the lawn mower to build the rope tow. Pretty ingenious really.
I bet he has a lot of new friends come winter.
