Jack Kuenzle Sets FKT from Chamonix to Mont Blanc on skis - VIDEO
Jack Kuenzle has been on a Fastest Known Time (FKT) smashing spree having set new times on Denali in Alaska, Mount Rainer, and Mount Shasta. On June 5th Kuenzle set the FKT for the round trip from Chamonix to Mont Blanc on skis.The Mont Blanc (white mountain) massif straddles parts of France, Italy and Switzerland and is the highest mountain in the Alps rising to 4,805.59m / 15,766ft. It lies some 25km from Chamonix and would take the average person over 8 hours to scale. Jack Kuenzle went round trip using skis for the alpine portion of the climb in 4:59:50, besting the previous record of 5:05:00 set by Matheo Jacquemoud in 2013. Kuenzle’s time was just two minutes slower than the overall FKT set by Kilian Jornet who ran the route in 4:57:34.
