Kootenay Coldsmoke Powder Festival
It's that time of year again, the Kootenay Coldsmoke Powder Festival is almost here and we want to see you there! This is the 13th annual event and it runs from February 22 - 24, 2019 at Whitewater Ski Resort near Nelson BC. Backcountry Skiing Canada is once again a Silver Sponsor and we'll have plenty of give-aways and prizes to be won. Come say 'hi' and help support Avalanche Awareness Beyond the Boundaries which is non-profit society formed to provide free Avalanche Skills Training to youth. You can pick up some fab swag at our booth for a small donation.
The Kootenay Coldsmoke Powder Festival is a 'grass-roots gathering where mountain enthusiasts of all levels can celebrate Kootenay mountain culture and general stoke for all forms of powder play'. There will be Clinics, Competitions, Socials and a Demo Village to try out some of the latest gear.
Things kick off this Friday with the Coldsmoke Opener: A Variety Show (of sorts) followed by the ROAM Randonnee Rally, Village Ski Hut Slopestyle, Off Mountain Mingler at the Hume Hotel in Nelson on Saturday, then Sunday wraps up with the Poker Run and The North Face Backcountry Olympics.
