When fellow, well-decorated climber Colin Haley states that, "There is no doubt that this is the most impressive solo ascent ever done in Patagonia, and I can’t help but wonder if it isn’t simply the most impressive ascent ever done in Patagonia in general." You tend to take that seriously.On February 7th 2021, Just a few days after enjoying his 40th birthday, Sean Villaneuva O'Driscoll completed the solo traverse of the Fitz Roy Traverse in Patagonia - backwards. Sean Called it the 'Moonwalk Traverse'.
The Fitz Traverse follows the skyline of Cerro Fitz Roy and its six satellite peaks.The traverse consists of 13,000 feet of vertical gain over the four-mile span of the massif. If unfamiliar with the range, simply find a logo for Patagonia clothing & equipment brand and there you have it.
