ON UNDERSTANDING WEATHER:
Acknowledging the deficits in my understanding of weather was the first step. The second, was to listen in to the most recent webinar hosted by Avalanche Canada, and part 6 in a series of online, educational evenings focused around the topic of snow safety and avalanche awareness. This week’s theme: Making the Most of the Mountain Weather Forecast.
Weather maps pack in a TON of information, and can seem pretty intimidating at first glance. Yet, if you — like me — are constantly looking for ways (especially free ones!) to expand your knowledge and add skills and resources to your backcountry toolbox, have a listen to this most recent webinar. Wether you are learning to decrypt a weather map, predicting what tomorrow’s skiing will be like, or want to know more about collecting information and data on your region’s snowpack, there is something to learn for everyone.
As this webinar is a part of a series, you may also access all other recordings of past events here. Avalanche Canada will continue posting here in the future, so stay tuned!
