The latest info on Navigation Apps

As we roll into SPRING, the ski-touring crowd looks to those long days which usually mean long ski tours.  With this in mind, it is good to re-look at navigation apps that can be critical on long trips to help get us to where we want to go.  

My personal favourite and one I use for search and rescue is Caltopo. This is a great app for mapping out your route.  It has route features that allow you to overlay your route onto your map to see elevation, distance and slope angle (a needed feature in avalanche terrain).   Also below is a great YouTube video by BCA EDGEucation with a general overview of the navigation apps out there.
