Oregon Splitfest

 In the beginning, there were only two planks. Foolhardy heathens, bent on putting a stain on good clean family fun, decided that two was too many planks, and hence snowboarding was brought in this world. After years of struggle, skiings younger brother finally has a seat at the table, and in tribute, split one plank back into two; the resulting 'skis' were to be used to get uphill, at which point the skis could be reassembled to their true form, a single plank.

 Now while this is a short and inaccurate version of the history of splitboarding, the sport is by comparison quite young next to skiing. Many enthusiasts gather in great numbers to celebrate the sport in what is more often than not called a 'splitfest' of one kind or another. One such fest is the Oregon Splitfest, and like all the others, it sounds like a heck of a good time. Check out the first hand recounting of the events that occurred between April 20th-22nd on Mt.
