Ultrarunner Smashes Denali Record
Jack Kuenzle has set a new fastest known time (FKT) by more than an hour on the highest peak in North America - Denali. Jack is an ultrarunner and endurance coach and climbed from base camp to the summit of Denali—and back—in 10 hours, 14 minutes by combining skiing and skinning. Karl Egloff, an Ecuadorian/Swiss climber, set the previous record in 2019 at 11 hours, 44 minutes, and before him, Kilian Jornet's held the record with a time of 11 hours and 45 minutes. Denali stands at 6,190m / 20,310 feet and is known to be a technical climb with several natural dangers to overcome.Jack is a former Navy Seal and in 2021 he climbed Mount Rainier in 3 hours, 4 minutes and Mount Shasta in 2 hours, 30 minutes.
